Lower sugar chutney
« on: May 18, 2007, 08:54:49 PM »
Ok, I admit it.  I am a chutney newbie and have no idea how sugary they normally are, so I need a bit of advice.

I had a recipe tonight that called for onion chutney which was combined with beef and stock to make a sauce.  The sauce came out quite nice, but it was just a bit too sugary for my taste.  Do they make lower sugar onion chutneys or are all chutneys quite sugary?

BTW, I used Sainsburys Taste the Difference Caramelised Red Onion Chutney.
Insert wonderfully creative signature here …
