audiobook
« on: May 23, 2007, 01:53:44 PM »
I am having wisdom tooth surgery next Friday and will be spending at least a week at home recovering from it. I would like to buy a couple audiobooks to keep me entertained; does anyone have suggestions for amusing or intriguing audiobooks?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Don't know if this would suit, but you can find out-of-copyright books free to download at:

http://librivox.org/
Insert wonderfully creative signature here …

What a great idea! I am just in the process of listening to samples and searching through the catalogue.

Thanks for the suggestion!

That is a great site!

I also download from iTunes as well. If you search under audiobooks then look in the podcast section they are all there.

(I'm pretty sure they are all on librivox as well, but might be a different reader that you prefer)

Audiobooks with Annie podcast is also good, she is reading Anne of Green Gables right now, but has not been on for some time.  (I believe she is ill)

You could also learn a language ;D  They have some really good free language learning podcasts.

(Can you tell I'm addicted?!)

I really need to check out the podcasts more. That would be a great way to learn a new language!

I got a little obsessed with the podcasts and went looking for everything I loved.  I always want to learn a new language and try it out only to not have time.  This way it's free ;D

I was looking at some of the audiobooks on iTunes and Amazon.  Man they are expensive.  More then an actual paperback and some hardcovers :o
