I'm sure she's not the only one  :P I already told her off and I knew she was going to pull that stunt yet another reason I'm giving up glasto :-\\\\

The other thing is that, unless she really looks like the person who bought the ticket, the mug who bought it probably won't get in!

Probably a bit late for Glastonbury, but Office Shoes is advertising a collection of 'Fab Festival Wellies.' They're pretty twee, but some of them are very cute.

Nice indeed - but only up to size 6???  I'm a 7, so no chance.

Have a brilliant weekend...I hope the weather stays good for all of us!

dunno they said the same thing last time and they didn't even check mine ticket maybe because I was too eager to have it checked or something or the steward was too stoned to care they only did random checks. If they do or don't I don't like the idea of selling tickets because it makes it hard for regular joes to afford (LIKE ME!!) to go. >:(

V fest is commercial but they are not trying to push themselves that they are not. Glasto is commercial it would be silly not to in order to get to where they are and the fact that Eavis opens his mouth about which band they want before they even get them. It's not the commercial aspects that puts me off this year it's the trundle there and back with the fecking long queues home :P

a friend just text me that she sold her ticket to someone for a sizable amount ::) :P

I am just not a fan of the people(teenagers, etc.) that V attracts, coming from experience.  Also, the time curfews regarding V fest were a bit juvenile in my opinion. There is no need to separate the camping and most food/all stages. Glastonbury is less commercial(IMO), but that's not to say that its not working its way up those particular ranks. One of my main beefs of this years fest was the overwhelming sense of clastrophobia.

We arrived in the afternoon on thursday and had to squeeze in a small spot. Back in 2005, we arrived on the Wednesday before, but even on the Thursday, there were plenty of spaces and elbow room. Alot more people were complaining/crying/moaning when my bf and I walked around, not to mention that something was majorly up with the sound(at pyramid) and the roadies didnt have things together even at other stages.

I guess thats what happens when 40,000+ more people are allowed on site(total of 177,000).:-/

As for queues, we managed to get the first coach bus out of the site in the morning, no probs. It's all about time-management, i suppose.:p

is it just me, or are arcade fire just a really boring, amish version of polyphonic spree?

I didnt find them that great, as I caught the tail end of their set. I was only there because Bjork was playing afterwards. :P

All that and we didn't even get to meet!

Arcade Fire could have been good, but the sound system on the Other Stage was so quiet through most of their set that I could hardly hear them.  When they finally turned it up I thought they were pretty good.

We arrived at 21.15 on Thursday night and had to ask people to move a gazebo so we could squeeze our tent in.  There was just no room, the whole place was way over capacity.  Luckily, the gazebo guys were brilliant, and we all plan to camp near each other next year!

The way back was a nightmare - the coach was at 2am, it didn't arrive until 3 so we were stood in pouring rain for all that time, deeply unhappy (especially a poor couple who had two children with them, who were quite natually crying).  Still, it arrived and I was home and showered and back in bed by 8.30am!

I had a brilliant time though.  Highlights were Lily Allen (MUCH better than I imagined), the Long Blondes, the Noisettes, The Manics and, of course, The Who.

Next year i'd like to do more of the outlying fields and some of the unsigned bands tents, but with all the mud it just wasn't practical this time.

I'm not in the festival mood I got tickets to Secret Garden but I may not even go this year family wants to go to Big chill. Every fest have the pros and con...I'm not a fan of V either but I'm slightly annoyed that areas of glasto (los vagueness healing fields) has become poncy and there's caravans for richie rich at £4,000. And how all weekend glasto pictures were all about what celeb was running around the site...When I started going to glasto with Jess I adored the family fields and never would think of going to camp anywhere else. catching the coach on Monday for me was a nightmare even when I organized my own 50+ seater for glasto goers.  :P  I think maybe it's the lack of John Peel that's just not making wanna go..:-[

Now that I can understand.  Though he'd have approved of some of the bands playing in his tent!

You going to Rise this year?  Good line up...

The Noisettes were one of the highlights of Glasto, and as for St Ettienne...I didn't even realise they were still going!
