For those who have taken the driver's theory test...
« on: June 03, 2007, 03:46:14 PM »
My test is scheduled for Friday 15th June, which would be okay except next friday is my professional exam and until then I'm doing nothing but studying for that.

So, my question for any who have already taken the theory test, do you think six days (weekend and four workdays) is enough time to study for the theory test?

I have looked briefly at the study materials like a month ago, but haven't studied really at all yet.

Thx!

Everyone is different, but I'd say that is enough time.

Don't forget to practice for the Hazard Perception test as well.

Good luck! :)

In my opinion, if you're already and experienced driver, then you don't need a lot of study time. I read through all the questions in the DSA book once (it took me three days... so boring!), and highlighted ones that I could possibly make a mistake on. I reviewed those the morning of the exam, and got a 35/35. Woohoo!

The hazard perception, however... definitely practice that! There's a £10 CD-ROM with 125 different hazard perception clips on it, and you can review the clips after you've finished to see where you've clicked, and how you scored. First I was clicking too late, then too early, and finally just right! I thought the clips on the actual exam were much easier than the ones on the CD-ROM, so it was all OK in the end. :D

I would say that is plenty of time to study. A CD-ROM with practise questions is very very helpful! I think I only studied about two or three days and passed no problem.

I third the CDrom  practice with a big emphasis on the Hazard Perception.  Might not hurt to look over a Street signs book either. 6 days should be fine.

take the practice tests on their website- I found them to be invaluable!

not a huge amount of studying time but adequate.  just do practice test after practice test... eventually it's gotta stick!

the hazard perecption- do as many tests as you can find.

Just took my driver's theory test and passed!!

A lot of it was common sense, but the DVD I bought on ebay helped a lot too.

Good luck to all still studying for it :)
