Hi,

Looking to move to the UK and wondering which make/model of a plasma/LCD TV to buy. I understand all the issues involved, the only "guesswork" left for all of us is which TV will actually handle the lower (50Hz) frequency.

So, if you were actually able to get a TV working, can you please post here? Thanks!

Hi VC2, and welcome to the forum.

which TV will actually handle the lower (50Hz) frequency.

It might help if you clarify exactly what you mean by that.  The frequency of the power supply is not likely to be a problem on any modern TV, so I assume you're referring to the vertical scanning rate, but there are degrees of compatibility.

Do you just mean a set which is confirmed as being able to synchronize properly to a 625/50 video signal fed in via component inputs, or are you looking for something more, like full PAL decoder capability on S-video/composite inputs?

I know the latter was not specifically part of your question, but it might help some of the people reading this who aren't so technical to better understand the query.
