Restaurant suggestions - London

Near South Ken tube?  Anyone?  I know it's a terrible part of town for restaurants, but I'm meeting up with a friend visiting from NY, so any suggestions would be extremely helpful!

There is El Gaucho right by the station.  I've never been but I hear they are pretty good

I've been there... because it was right by the station.  It must have been okay because I don't remember it being bad. We were the first seated and by the time we left it was packed.

It's not right by South Ken station, but it's probably a 20 minute walk or you can hop on a bus. My husband and I went there for our anniversary this year and we really enjoyed it. They have the best freakin pecan pie I have ever had in my life.  We went in January and DH still can't stop talking about it.

Thanks - in the end I booked a table at Wodka - I've been to the sister restaurant Baltic, so I think it's a safe bet.  A bit pricey, but wanted to take her somewhere nice.
