NEW 7 Wonders of the World

I've made a big list of places I want to travel to and visit before I die and in my search for places, it brought me to this:

I just thought people here might want to vote on what they think should be the New 7 Wonders of the World (not necessarily the 7 Wonders of the New World) and share your experiences if you've visited any of the nominee's or just in general talk about these places and whether you think it's a good idea or not to have a new 7 wonders of the world.

Personally, I think it's a great idea because most of the originally 7 wonders of the ancient world no longer exist and a lot of people assume that certain sites, especially the Great Wall of China, are some of the 7 wonders of the world but they are not.

I can't wait till they are chosen and I can visit them all and check them off my list! I kind of wish there could be more than 7 though... who decided 7 was a good number anyways?

Weird.  I always thought there was a list of the Seven Modern Wonders.  Learn something new everyday!

There kind of is but it varies depending on the source... plus this list includes both ancient and modern wonders, a compliation of wonders over all of time, basically any structure that was built or discovered before year 2,000 was included or considered.

Was a bit miffed that Stonehenge didn't make the list - it definitely qualifies under the "mystery" category!
