« on: July 20, 2007, 07:10:04 PM »
When you fly into the US or the UK which country do you list as your residence?  I listed the US yesterday and I got hassled at the airport in Cincinatti because I didn't put both....what should i have done and has anyone had any problems with this?

I put the UK, because that is my country of residence.  The US is my country of citizenship.

I posted this same question on the Visas board.  (I am on a lease with my fiance in the UK (here only as a visitor for 6 months) and no longer have a permanent residence in the US.)  I think Garry will be giving me an answer soon.

I cant see why you wouldnt list the UK as your country of residence if you do actually live here.

I replied to Andee on the other thread but to recap...

If you are an American citicen you don't need to fill out a landing card. All you have to do is show your passport and a customs form to gain entry. Thats it.

If the confusion was over the customs form I alway put US citizen and residence as UK.  (as Carrie stated).

Andee -- in your case I would put US as residence and list the address of wherever you're staying only because you won't have legal standing in the Uk until you get the visa and move there.
