Make it a Biggie Please, Wendy!
« on: July 31, 2002, 06:50:19 PM »
I'm sure most of you already know, but for those that don't, I can now confirm that there is indeed a Wendy's in Heathrow Airport,Terminal 3, Arrivals.

(She said as she wiped the Frosty from her chin....)

Oh my goodness did I enjoy it, too.  Tee hee.   ;D

From now on, anyone who comes to see me (yeah like that's ever gonna happen!) is now being directed to go to that airport.  So what if it took us two hours on the tube each way!  I can stand it.  And if anyone has relatives flying in that might need a welcoming party to meet them, I'm your gal.

Had me a big ol' Bacon Classic, fries which were dunked and drudged generously through a giant Frosty, and it was heaven.

And as far as I can tell, it was a zero point meal, too, since it clearly isn't listed anywhere in my Weight Watchers book.  Heh heh...

Just wanted to keep you all informed!

....as you were..... 8)

I know, Michele.  I have a lot of power-walking to do to make up for this one, I admit it.

Don't suppose you would believe me if I told you the ground crew there forced it down my throat would you?

::)

I believe there is a Wendy's in Oxford Street too.  Or at least there used to be one.

If you're thinking of the one that was opposite Selfiridges, Glen, I'm afraid that one is gone.   :'(

So you're a Frosty-fry-dunker, too!  My kids love dunking their fries (chips...) in chocolate shakes ever since their oh-so-diet conscious (NOT) mother taught them...YUM!

Oh  yes, definately a Frosty-fry-dunker...only way to go about the job of eatin' em I say.

No Wendy's on Oxfordstreet, Belgium Beer, I'm sorry to say.  I work there and I would have found it by now, trust me!

If only I'd been here a couple years earlier when there was still a Taco Bell at Leicester Square and a Wendy's at Oxford Street....oh how life would be different.  :)

Wish!  I'm like two stops away from heathrow (seriously like 15 min drive to Terminal 4).  One to make our next day out to Wendy's?  ;D

Do most American-based establishments have a difficult time of staying afloat in the UK?  Sounds like an epedemic what with all the Taco Bells and Wendy's closing down like that...

I only WISH more American fast food places would shut down!  Boots Corner in Glasgow had a KFC on one corner, McDonalds on another, Pizza Hut on the 3rd, and a Dunkin Donuts on the 4th corner!  You wouldnt even know you were in Scotland... it was disgusting.  (the Dunkin Donuts has changed to something else now, a pasta place, i think).

There was only ever 1 Taco Bell in the UK, and it was at Leicester Square.  Its not really an epidemic, as that closed probably something like 10 years ago.  Wendys... well, there were only a handful of them scattered across the UK, but i guess they just could not compete with McDonalds & Burger King... although i think Wendy's are MUCH better!

Andrew, btw... i lived in Modesto for about a year.  Really loved eating at Minnie's... god, the special chow mein there!!!
