Allspice..

i dont know what rugelach is...  is it meant to be sweet or savoury?

It's a sweet pastry, like a mini-cinnamon roll, but they can be with chocolate or raisins and nuts too.

Rugelach are fabulous cookies. I'm a tad surprised there's allspice in the recipe. Usually I see cinnamon and that sort of stuff in them.

sounds like mixed spice would work, then! 

Cinnamon, coriander seed, caraway, nutmeg, ginger and cloves.

I think that could work...

No, I'm mistaken..its not the rugelach, but the apple honey bundt cake I'm also making that has allspice in it.

Use the mixed spice. It will be fine. You can also add a bit of white pepper too. My honey cake actually calls for the spices that are similar to your mixed spice plus a bit of white pepper. Maybe go a bit easier on the cinnamon, but if you don't I'm sure it will be ok too.
