The Bourne Ultimatum
« on: August 17, 2007, 09:23:01 AM »
Rich and I went to a Bafta viewing of the movie Wednesday night.  It was fantastic.  I'm a huge fan of the series and I think this might be my favourite one.

After the movie there was a Q&A with Matt and Paul Greengrass the Director.  Yes, Matt is even more gorgeous in person. :P  It was very interesting because they basically said that the movies were nothing like any of the books. (Some important details were there, but the Books were written during Cold War time, so they really needed to update them)  Also most of Ultimatum's action scenes were done unscripted.

Anyway, I give it a big thumbs up.

But here's the important question: What did you wear!?!?  :)

LOL!  Funny you ask.  When Mindy came to drop her daughter off (Our fabulous babysitter) she looked at me and said "Is that what you are wearing?"  I was horrified, but I didn't change.  Just wore a casual outfit.  It was a huge packed theater and we were at the top. (I need to be far from the screen)

DB and I saw it when it first came out. I heard that the books were completely different too.

That's amazing that the movie was mostly unscripted! I never would have guessed that!

We liked the movie too.  :)

Thanks for the review, I can't wait to see it but I'm sooo jealous that you got to see Matt in person.

I tried to read the first one and got so bored.  I don't know why?  I hate when I do that.

I know!  I was surprised too.  But I can see why it had to be.  Imagine shooting in a Moroccan market place and scripting it, OY :P

Yes, that was what I was thinking as well, I'm just a wimp. :(

I've met him before as well. (Shhh) He went to Uni at the same time I did.  but I thought that was a little to stalkerish to mention :P

Trust me, skip the books :P  Well don't if you like them, but they are so different.

I can see how that would be difficult.  ;) I guess they must have had a general idea of what they wanted to do for each scene then and just gone with it.

I forgot this bit, Matt told the audience that Peter kept saying, just look more butch and intense in those scenes.  Seemed to work I guess ;D
