Oven Cleaner?
« on: August 22, 2007, 02:28:53 PM »
Hi all

Not strictly a food question, but i wondered if anyone could recommend an oven cleaner other than Mr Muscle...

I have a low level fan oven with the door opening from the top down (does that make sense?) and every time i use that i'm paranoid that it'll drip onto the rubber seal as soon as i shut the oven door...and besides, it's so blinkin' messy to use?

Lakeland Ovenmate is the bee's knees.  It's a gel you spread on with a brush, so it's easy to control where it goes and it really does the business.

I've got just the type of oven you have, and have been using Ovenmate on it for years.

It's not smelly, either.

I bought a little steam cleaner last weekend and tried it out on the oven. Works well, and no chemicals!  :D
