I know there are a bunch of people in here from NJ....we're thinking about going there for a couple of days between Christmas and New Years. Has anyone been there in the winter time? Is there anything to DO there in the winter? Will people think we're nuts if we go? Any recommendations on B&Bs or things to do?

I went there in April as part of my show my hubby a good time and be out of my parent's house.  It was quiet, very quiet.  But cheap because it was off season.  TO be honest there wasn't much to do, just wander around the beach, look at the pretty houses, eat taffy and custard.  For Jersey shore fun Wildwood is not far away, but again I am not sure how hopping it will be in winter.

This is where we stayed and it was nice, but sort of creepy in a cool way.  http://www.innofcapemay.com/

Looks that hotel is closed from December to Easter, I am not sure if all the old hotels are, but you want to stay in one of the ones that are old and Victorian.

Thanks so much for your input! That's exactly the reason we were going to go there (show him a good time and get out of my parent's house). Hmmm...I'm a bit worried that if there wasn't much to do there in April, there will be next to nothing to do there in December. The inn looks beautiful and if we go, we'll definitely have to stay in something similar. Thanks again!

We had a good time anyway and I think Cape May does a Victorian Christmassy thingy.

Yup here is some information on it.

This is great! Thanks! We'll probably be there for one of the Lamplighter Tours, so that's perfect! Okay, I'm feelng better about this trip now! You can come if you want. We'll probably be the only people in the whole town!

I'll be back in the UK.  Just to warn you, when we went there weren't many places open to eat late at night.  We wound up at a Chinese place, although it was very good.

We've been to Cape May during the Christmas time and it's beautiful. Very quiet, but beautiful. The victorian housese are all done in white lights and they do a tour of the houses all decorated. There are a number of different b &bs from modern decorated with lots of extras to victorian and beautifl depending on what your taste is.
