I love TKMaxx in Bristol!!
« on: March 23, 2004, 12:33:56 AM »
I just do.

There is a newish one by the mall. It's nice and large and has plenty to choose from.

I have been to a couple in the SE (Reading and Woking) and was disappointed each time as every dept looked like a disaster area because of an immense flow of traffic. The goods looked "picked over" as my mother would say.

This one in Bristol reminds of the ones back home, but before they really caught on bigtime. Lots of choice, red tickets, quality items. We racked up on kitchenware and things for the new place. I hooked hubby on TJ's back home and even he was thrilled about this one here--lots of guys shoes and clothes, etc.

After I settle in a few weeks and am dying for another shop, I might call on you Berkshire girls for a shop over to Bristol if you are up for it. :)

Anyone else like this store?

I'm a huge TKMaxx fan.  I agree that the one in Woking is pretty picked over-'paw and dig' is what my Mom would call it. :)  but I have gotten some good things there from time to time.  It's especially good for finding American style baking pans.

I popped in the TkMaxx in Glasgow, and it looked the same as the ones over here, so I'm very excited to do some shopping at the ones in Scotland.  There's another one in East Kilbride as well that looks pretty big, but I haven't been inside of it yet.  I see the big semi-trucks from TK Maxx all the time when I'm one the freeway near DF's house...woohoo.  Discount goodies for me!!!!! ;D

Just out of curiosity, why is it TKMaxx in the UK instead of TJMaxx?  Just can't figure that one out...hehehe.

I got my husband hooked on TJMaxx too!  ;D  We go TJ nuts when we go back to the States for visits. I think we hit every store in a 50 mile radius...hehe.

Was shocked and thrilled to find a TKMaxx while visiting friends in Salisbury last year. Had no idea anything like that exisited outside the States.  :o :)

There's one located in the business park right behind Lakeside Maill in Essex as well. I'm a compelte TJMaxx *freak*, and nearly cried when I saw it's counterpart in Essex!
I'm done moving. Unrepatriated back to the UK, here for good!
