Hi! I'm Chris, a single, 53 year old woman from Boston, Mass. I'm applying for an HSMP visa as soon as I get my taxes done and plan to emigrate to north-east England or south-east Scotland. My sister met a Geordie on line a few years ago, moved to Newcastle, and married him. She has 3 married step-sons and 7 grandchildren. I miss everyone too much to keep up with this commuting nonsense--9 trips in 2 and a half years! Well, I got over my fear of flying!

I will be accompanied by my Feline-American companion, Spucky. We have complied with every detail of the PETS program. We are just waiting for "the day," which will be near the end of May. Do I think it's ironic that he gets to emigrate before I do? You bet!
I started to dejunk my house a while ago. I'm ready for the second run-through after reading all of the sage advice here. Now I don't feel extravagant for shipping the things that I don't necessarily need, but I want. They will help me feel that my new home is really my home. Kind of like peeing in the corners of the rooms to mark my territory.
When I get over there, I'll be looking for a middle to senior level management position in a large university. I'll be letting everyone know about the HSMP visa, the PETS program, and the job and house hunts. Until then, I'll be reading and posting.
