OK. Please don't all get angry ... but .... why are Mac users so ... rabid?

I love, love, love my mac, but have no problems switching to a pc when I need to. I think the newer macs are made to feel more personal to the user, the new operating systems are very intuitive and I work much faster on a mac then I ever could on a pc. I've seen the mac vs. pc discussion before, many, many times and the mac users are always pretty vocal. It's just 'cause we love our macs so much ;D

I prefer enthusiastic.  ;)

Enthusiastic!  I like that!

I think we are so vocal because we do love our Macs.  And I think that says it all.  It must be a damn good product if so many people rave about them!  :D ;)

But that's the thing I don't get. I mean, they're fine, but they're no better or worse than PCs. Are they a damn good product? Meh. Not bad. Really, there's no difference between Macs and PCs (except the price which is another story). It just seems sort of "cultish" o me, to be honest. Sort of like Saturn drivers back in the early '90s!

But you get super cool stickers with a Mac!  I never got any stickers with a PC. ;D

I was all set to be a big Mac lover but in our household, my nearly 6 year old Dell laptop has held up much better than DH's 4 year old Powerbook.  And that's even after we nearly lost everything on my hard drive and had to do a bit of recovery on it.

I think DH was ready to be the diehard Mac fan but now he's waning a bit.  :-\\\\

I do love the iPods though!

Hi!

Turning into a buy this buy this thread now aint it !!

Stacey..  as an alternative to that new imac have a look at one of the best PC's to match here (yes it's PC Pro again,  I just got the new edition fall through the letterbox today!)

http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/128831/sony-vaio-vgclt1s.html

Looks wise, it's just a single notch below the imac - but still is fantastic as it appears to be a shrunken version of the Bravia range of LCD tellys - my mates £3500 telly looks like it!

The sony scores over the imac in being a full media centre as well - the imac doesn't even come close - it only has a 2inch advantage in screen size - bit pointless on an imac with it's very weak media centre capabilities. The sony has a blu ray drive too, so it's well futureproofed already, no doubt apple will release something similar in the future and charge an arm and maybe a couple of legs for it too!

As an 'all rounder' the Sony is the one to go for I'd say - if you want the pretty looks and not so much capability then go for the imac - both will do the basic items you want, but it's the extra features which you'll evaluate come longetivity and usefulness  afew months down the road that could make you go one way or another.

Dar - there's plenty I don't know!!

Fungirl - thats hilarious!! 'my apple came with stickers' ! - I bet in the playground you said 'my barbie is better looking than your barbie' to yer best friend! ;)

Cheers! DtM! West London & Slough UK!

Dennis, wow, that is gorgeous!  Looks just like our TV (but 24 inches smaller :P)

I wish I had an office for a PC.  Right now I'm stuck with my dining room table in the lounge.
