i've left my passport at work.  have an early morning flight tomorrow from Luton to Glasglow.  Can I use my UK or US driving licence as ID?

I'd check with the airline.  Don't think there's any standard - bring the passport just to be sure.

I think you can use your UK driver's license.

I used my US driver's license as proof of ID for an internal flight from Gatwick to the Isle of Man and didn't have any problems. My passport got wedged in the bottom of my bag and my driver's license was handier at the time.

Yes, you do since you're not a UK citizen.
Now a triple citizen!

Student visa 9/06-->Int'l Grad Scheme 1/08-->FLR(M) 7/08-->ILR 6/10-->British citizenship 12/12

You definitely need to bring your passport when you are going to the Republic of Ireland.

Technically speaking, you don't need a passport to travel within the UK; however, many airlines only accept a passport as suitable ID to board flights, so as has been said, check with the carrier.

You can't use a U.S. drivers license for interal flights on Ryanair.  You need a passport.  I almost found that out the hard way, because you used to be able to use the U.S. driver's.  Luckily my df made me take my passport or it would have been a short trip.

i asked the girl at easyjet checkin today if i could use my US Driving licence.  she said yes, but not sure I 100% believed her.  i used my UK photocard licence no problem at check-in & at security.

i'm travelling from stanstead to luton on sat.  all the people travelling with us are british ciz (except me).  one of them has misplaced her passport.  she rang up someone and they said that a photo ID (aka UK driving licence) would be sufficient.  however, reading this... i'm not sure if will be sufficient.  anyone have any insight on this?  don't really fancy a quaffle sat morning at 5am regarding this.

We flew to Glasgow with Ryanair in Ocotber.  A UK drivers was ok for my bf, but I was told they no longer except U.S. ones by the girl at the gate.

Has anyone here tried using a US driver's licence for a domestic flight on bmi baby?
