Excellent !!!!

Mourinho is a great manager, so wherever he goes next, that team should improve!

As for Chelsea - now they need to find someone willing to do the job! if 'roman Amillion dollarsofwhich' is 'upset' his little plaything chelsea football club is having a bit of a dip - which new manager wants to join with that kinda pressure?!!!

Sports pages are going to be alight with allsorts of views on this !

and personally, I hope this marks the point at which chelsea get brought down a peg or 10 and realise just by throwing loads of money at them doesn't mean success on the pitch & Trophy cabinet!  ;)

Cheers! DtM! West London & Slough !

Did he jump or was he pushed?  ???

I am totally shocked at this.  Jose is a fantastic manager, and such a character, and he will be a real loss to English football.  I think that he was always going to be booted when Grant joined, and the hilarious result against Rosenburg was the excuse Ibramovic has been waiting for.  I think it is a decision he will regret, as Lampard, Terry, Carvalho and several others put in transfer requests.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if this rips apart "brand Chelsea".

Always excellent to see a rival supporter be able to accurately assess an event without all the usual chest thumping.  I think it was the beginning of the end starting with the arrival of Arnesen and continued from there.

Cait,

Yep, I know that was a 'typical' rival supporters thing to say! - but on a more analytical view, I tend to think he was nudged out as per Vicky's 2 possibles. Roman is a multi billionaire and has hardly shown a marked 'interest' in his chelsea plaything in comparison to other multi billionaire owners of other clubs - Glaziers showed more interest in Man U and Gillet I think showed the most interest ...

So from the outside, it 'seems' roman just wants things to go his way and thinks by Chelsea doing things a certain way they'll succeed. Mourinho probably displayed tactics which probably take longer to achieve what roman wants and thats the cause of the rift. It is a business, and it seems mourinho has got all his bases covered and is presenting a realistic picture of the club - roman, just wants it all now and isn't taking the whole picture in - world class managers and the way the team needs to be built and nurtured doesn't happen overnight - sure there's blips along the way and now that Chelsea are 'blipping' romans got ants in his pants and 'wants a change'!

no doubt the new guy will have to do as ordered by roman....   lets see if that actually translates into fluidity and increased performance on the pitch...

Hopefully, chelsea do continue to be a part of the top 4 and/or keep their game and ultimately 'business' up at the top flight...  keeping the players is going to be at least one of their concerns right now....

Good luck to mourinho .. he is without a doubt a fantastic manager, he doesn't need to prove himself and the next club he's at are almost guaranteed to do well !

Cheers! DtM! West London & Slough UK!

I am really going to miss his post-match interviews, they were such good value!

I think that this whole scenario is one of the problems which occur when you have abusinessman rather than a football fan in charge of a club.  God forbid this ever happens to Arsenal!  If Ibramovic were our charman Wenger would have been sacked midway through last season!

I think that's the worry for all us fans when our clubs are seen by "outsiders" as good investments rather than the passion that they are.  I realise they kind of have to make money, but it really isn't ALL about that, really.  I like to think that the best players would continue playing even if tomorrow the FA decreed that salaries were capped at £100,000 per year.  Because what they want to do is play football.

I was a bit surprised (and not surprised) when I read about it this morning.  He's done amazing things at Chelsea and will be an asset no matter where he goes.

Absolutely.  I am DESEPERATELY worried that Usmanov is going to get enough shares to launch a hostile takover at Arsenal.  It really scares me.

I'm surprised he wasn't lured by QPR!
