Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
« on: October 09, 2007, 07:25:01 PM »
I was just rereading the Sunday Mirror magazine supplement and it told the Pillsbury is bringing back the ready to bake chocolate croissants but even better the are bringing to the UK ready to bake croissants in the can. I am sure they are nowhere near as nice as what we know but it's a start

They are supposedly in Sainsburys, Tesco and Waitrose although my Tesco didn't have them today. They are in the butter section with the other pastries. Can't wait to see if they are any good

I'll have to keep an eye out, especially with Turkey Day coming up! :)

I've seen croissants in a can (and pain chocolat) in Tesco (not Pillsbury, but some brand that was a subsidiary of Sara Lee), and also a (presumably German) brand in Aldi.

They were exactly as i remember them being in the US.

I remember seeing you post about seeing them in Aldi ages ago, and every time I pass an Aldi I stop and have a look, but I haven't gotten lucky yet.  :P

My Sainsbury's has Sara Lee chocolate ones.

I bought the croissants in a can - from Tesco or Sainsburys - and they were pretty vile. Will have to look for the rolls though.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I was watching Nigella Express, or whatever that show is on BBC2, and she just unrolled a sheet of puff pastry, cut it into squares, put a little chunk of plain (semi-sweet) chocolate in the middle, and rolled it up like a croissant. They looked pretty darn good to me!

That sounds really good! I might try it sometime! I suppose you could also do a savoury version with cheese or spinach or something.

So good huh!  I need to make some!  She made it seem so easy too. (Only I could probably ruin them knowing me!)

OK, now I'm drooling. :P
