Life Insurance in the US

We are looking for life insurance and wondering if anyone here has any recommendations on companies for or against. There are so many and the quotes we have gotten are all over the board for the same amount of money and trying to weed through them based on premiums is not what we should be doing. Thanks.

I would go on a website such as epinions and see how people were dealt with when they tried to make claims.
