She's out of quarantine!!!
« on: October 13, 2007, 08:50:42 AM »
My dog, Poppy, came home yesterday after a long six months in quarantine.

Overall it wasn't that bad. The kennel (Overhill Kennels near Bristol) was great. They took wonderful care of her. My only complaint is that she gained a full kilo while she was there. Too much good food, I guess.

They delivered her to my door yesterday morning and we took her for a big walk into town, where she got to sniff around (including with a basset hound).

The kittens are a bit scared of her, even though they're almost as big as she is now. I also need to alter her morning schedule, since she woke up before 5:30 wanting a walk and breakfast.

Yippee!  I hated that dreaded quarantine.  You just miss their little faces, don't you?

Congrats on getting her home!  Must be great having the family back together.  You can even treat her to a shop at Pets at Home.  Celebrate good times!

It was a bit trying at first, but she's gotten into a better routine now (waking up at 7 am instead of 5 am). We go for long walks on the beach twice a day -- she loves all the smells in the sand.

One of the kittens really likes her and follows her around. The other... well... he kinda hates the world now (he's always been the moodier of the two brothers) and this morning walked up to a sleeping dog and bopped her on the head, claws out.
