I don't know London at ALL. Once I get my hands on a map of London I'm going to start planning this better. That Bodeans place sounds good, I looked at their menu though and they don't have beef (other than ribs). :( That's what DH and I always got at Bandana's in St. Louis.

Oh it's FANTASTIC!!! A bunch of us met up there one time. You wouldn't be disappointed. It reminded me of a place in Maryland called "Red, Hot and Blue" Memphis style BBQ. YUMMY!!!!

YES Bodean's is good !!! We had a brill time there that day!!! Well the whole day was superb!! Fun and sun in the park....Man we need to do that one again!!

Do not go to the Texas Embassy..yuck! Cafe Pacifico is much nicer........that is near covent garden isn't it..someone correct me if wrong?!

It's VERY VERY VERY good.  They do excellent brisket ("burnt ends" they call it) on Wednesdays and Sundays that I highly recommend.  We eat at the one in Clapham every month or so for a good fix.  They also serve A&W root beer, cream soda, and Coors Light! :P Good pecan pie, too.

Is it texas-style barbecue then? I'm assuming so since you mentioned brisket, but just want to make sure....

We did have such a great time that weekend didnt we? The food, the company, the picnic, the weather. It was fantastic! But I have to disagree about Cafe Pacifico. In my humble opinion I thought it was the worst Mexican food I've ever eaten! But the drinks and company were brill!

I think it sells itself as Kansas City (and sauce is probably more like that style), but the brisket was tender and smoky like I am used to in Texas, so am not complaining!  The chicken is also lovely and juicy, the ribs are smokey and delicious.  The saucy is generally thick and tangy, but they also have a delightful spicy alternative.  It's very yummy!!

What I really miss are mozzarella sticks though.

We used to get mozza sticks & jalepeno poppers from a pizza place in north London - Sorrento Pizza in Highbury if that's any use.

Pizza Hut.  It's actually quite good here.  I'm disappointed by the lack of breadsticks, though.  I tried to explain to my boyfriend what they were, and it finally clicked when I googled the American Pizza Hut menu and showed him what they were.

I can't wait to taste those again when I go back to the US.

There is Frankie and Benny's, but I'm not entirely sure if that's American.  They claim to be American, but nothing on the menu is really American at all.  I ordered "American pancakes" expecting big round pancakes with maple syrup, but I got basically what are Scotch pancakes.  Tiny and only 4 of them, for £4!  I could have gotten 8 for 60 p at Sainsbury's.
The chances are there's a reason we've been left here, but I'm not disappointed.  - Idlewild

Old Orleans isn't too bad, they're supposed to be more Louisiana styled food...  They used to have really good Buffalo Burgers on their menu - I don't know if they still do or not & really good Fajita Towers.  If you get one of their free discount cards you save 10% off your meal...
