A good B&B in Manchester
« on: November 12, 2007, 11:34:29 AM »
Can anyone recommend a B&B in Manchester close-ish to Grafton street?  I have an interview on Friday and want to stay over Thursday night as train times are just cutting it too close to get there from Leicester.

I looked online and everything was really high in price.  Is there somewhere else I should be looking?  Thanks!

There was a post on this a couple of weeks ago, maybe the recommendation there will help?

It's too bad this wasn't last year as Grafton Street (I'm assuming you mean the one near the uni) is about 10-15 minutes walk from where I lived in Manchester- you could have stayed with me, hehe :P

I know the Salutation pub on Higher Chatham Street (postcode M15 6ED) is also a small B&B- it's right next to the music college and MMU and I used to walk past it every day going to and from uni.  I have no idea what their rooms are like as I've never stayed there, but it's worth a go. Their phone number is: 0161 273 1416.

That shouldn't be a problem, there are loads of buses everywhere, especially on Oxford Road where there is a bus literally every 2 minutes during the day.  Feel free to PM if you want info on getting around Manchester or anything :)

Ahhh, thanks.  I just might do that.  For now, it is off to the market for groceries.
