Arturo Perez Reverte: Queen of the South. (Ninth Gate author)

If you're looking for some good books to get into, try Arturo Perez Reverte. He wrote the Dumas Club which the movie the Ninth Gate (with Johnny Depp) was based on. He's a Spanish author who puts a lot of research into his books, which are contemporary yet historical mysteries. Those of you that enjoyed the Da Vinci Code may want to start with The Seville Communion. You won't be disappointed by any of his books and you'll enjoy living in the world he created while reading them. His latest book is The Queen of the South, about the rise of a Mexican woman in Spain's drug running world.

He's one of my favorite authors. Enjoy!

What a well written recommendation.  :)  I shall have to investigate further...

Oh I love this man!!  Definately worth a read.  I have read him in both languages and most of the English translations are pretty good.
