Passport with HSMP appl.
« on: April 08, 2004, 07:17:46 AM »
I would swear that I read that I have to send my US passport with my HSMP application.  I have been reading so many sites that I'm totally confused.  I'm prepared to send a notarized copy because I will be taking a few trips in May.  I don't want to wait and submit my application in June.  I wanna get outta here!

Do I have to send the passport or copy with the HSMP application, or ist it just the visa application?

Thanks very much,  Dazed and Confused

IIRC, you have to send the actual passport for any visa application.  Might be worth a trip to the consulate to do a walk-in...expensive and wastes your day (or more than one day), but at least you keep hold of your passport.

Thanks, Emily, and welcome to the list.

I calmed down and went over the advice for the HSMP.  I don't need to send the passport for the HSMP approval letter, just the visa after I get the letter.  Now I can go back to stressing about the amount of time it will take for the Home Office to process my application, having my floor redone, and putting my condo up for sale.
