DH's Interview with London US Embassy is next week
« on: December 04, 2007, 11:38:28 PM »
We have a date now  :) That means we will know on Dec 13th whether or not the sweet deal we got on DH's job offer is going to allow us our new life in the US. It's all in the hands of US immigration now. If Dh gets his US visa, then we will be moving just before New Year, so it's really quick so he can start work almost straight away.

I have been down lately and can't seem to shake a cold that is hanging on. Sitting still and not knowing is driving me nuts, so I will be happy to get over there, enjoy the warmer weather and get back to my Pilates training. I have a signed up to a new (Pilates) program all and possibly a job with their studio when i finish my training!

Now we just need the house to sell  ::)

That is soooo wonderful to hear you are loving it where you are (remind me where in the US you moved to?).  :D

I have twangs of being sooo overly excited to go back and feelings of plain sadness to leave here. I think I am mostly sad to leave DH's family b/c they feel like my family now and are so much more normal than my own. It's always hard to leave loved ones, the good thing is, I will have more opportunities to see my family once we move stateside.  :)

Thanks Jules... I am so glad to hear that from you.  I am so torn right now I need to hear that people that really liked it here are doing well stateside!

Pittpanther and vnicepeeps, you guys will do just fine coming back! I was very weepy at times (when we sold the house and when I said goodbye to co-workers and friends). Even though I had my trials at times in England it was sad to leave.

Now that I am back, I feel a lot better in my skin....it just feels more like home to me over here. Yes, some cultural adjustments but they have all been very positive!  :) My Brit DH was worried a bit about his adjustment but he is loving it (thank goodness). I knew he would fit in well (as he always did on our visits back).

All the best to you guys!

PS - we are truly laughing at the price of things at times, we can't get over the cheap prices.

I know deep inside things will be okay.. they always are and I just hope we can find a nice area to live in.  Hubby always liked lots of things about the USA...I was the main reason for us moving here! The biggest challenges for us will be the holiday (or lack thereof) and trying to find a place without a ton of horrible traffic and long commute times.
