What are you doing with your leftovers?
« on: December 26, 2007, 11:55:11 AM »
We seem to have a lot of leftover veggies so I'm making a cheesy veg gratin for lunch today, topped with the rest of the crispy onions that i didn't use yesterday.

There's quite a bit of roast turkey left too, my husband is the only one who eats it so I'm thinking turkey tacos for him tonight!

Funny enough there's only a little bit of trifle even though I made one big enough for 6 and there's only 3 of us. Hmmn ....  :D

We had baked ham, so my mom will make ham pot pie with the leftovers. As for the other stuff, there wasn't much left!

We are munching our way through them..and tonight, more of the trimmings for my husband. He likes a roast dinner.

I'm taking the ham bone and making black bean soup.  Leftover ham, rolls, and veg will make dinner tonight.

we had xmas at my in-laws, and dh's siblings were going back over today to finish off the leftovers.

we, on the other hand, stayed in our jammies & watched dvds all day, and it was good!  ;D

i do have a buttload of homemade cookies & candy left over, though, so i'm thinking i'll be taking that into work tomorrow. i made pink ice, which is crushed candy canes stirred into melted white chocolate, but no one seemed to like that too much. :-\\\\

I wish I'd had Christmas at my house! I'll be going back to an empty fridge tomorrow and am more than a little jealous of all of your leftovers!  :)

I chopped the leftover meat 'n' veg up and cooked it all up with a jar of kung po sauce, served over a bed of rice - it was delish!! :D  My brussels have never been so spicy! ;)

No leftovers here, either. :( We flew back today from the inlaws and had to leave the good stuff, including the lovely olives we'd bought, at theirs where they will get thrown out I'm sure. :(
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Leftovers??  didn't have any for the first time ever this year.  Made grilled ribeye steaks, baked taters and salad - everyone licked their plates clean!  Well I guess there was a bit of leftovers....the desserts - lots of choices with pumpkin, candy cane pies and fudge, spritz cookies, divinity, peanut brittle - so i guess we'll be eating that for a while or chunking it in the garbage after New Years!  hehe

Mine mysteriously dissappeared from the fridge sometime between the time I went to bed and the end of Match of the Day.  ::)
