Resume vs CV for applications
« on: December 20, 2007, 08:35:13 PM »
Hi all,

So I'm deep in statement-of-purpose hell, what better time to procrastinate?  ;D My application timeline is to get everything submitted and posted in the second week of January, mainly because I need to get my transcripts in order and my university is closed until then. Grr.

In terms of submitting a resume, would you suggest I reformat it to a UK-style C.V. (I saw some how-to threads in the job board) when I submit it with my application?

I'm just a bit concerned because the CV style seems a little sparse, and I'm concerned that what looks appropriate for a resume might be seen as filler on the CV. Also, I managed to fit all of my work experience/skills/coursework on one page, and I want to keep it that way without cutting stuff  :P

I honestly don't think it matters.  IIRC I used a plain US resume for my application and it wasn't a problem.
Now a triple citizen!

Student visa 9/06-->Int'l Grad Scheme 1/08-->FLR(M) 7/08-->ILR 6/10-->British citizenship 12/12

I just used my regular US resume when I applied and it was no problem.
Another shameless promotion for www.mclevey.com, the best place on the internet to buy art.
