I getting to realise that I'm a hard copy person. I like to have things in front of me
and not have to go back and forth between screens.
I recognize this may be a waste of paper because I probably will only need about 30% of it.

I agree with Jim.  A lot of times it's much easier to have a good old-fashioned printed book in front of you so that you don't have to keep flipping back and forth, trying to remember something as you go.

Besides, I can remember when the original IBM PC came with a whole shelf full of manuals!   ;)

I've always found computer manuals to be incredibly tedious. There are easier ways to go about teaching someone how to use a PC, be it in written or oral form.

Yup! I don't ever remember using the manual for a computer! Or for me, even better is trial and error.  Its not like you can seriously screw up the computer.  And if you do ,its worth paying the money for tech support, because you must have done something terribly bad, which is like impossible in the first place!
