How do I move my Brit Hubby to USA?
« on: March 13, 2008, 10:19:13 AM »
Hello- So first off I have looked eveywhere for this answer, maybe I looked in the wrong places?

Basically, Im the Yank-living here in Notts with my Brit hubby. In a couple years we are looking to move back to the US. How do we start his paper work so he can live and work there? It all seems more complicated than when I got my visa to live and work here.

Does anyone have any idea? Any advise would help!!! Thx

I'd start with a look through the posts on the repatriation board?

http://forum.diveintoamerica.com is your best information source for moving back to the US.

I highly recommend visajourney.com as a place you can go for help and advice, specifically their guides section:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?autocom=custom&page=guides

The message boards were very helpful as well.  I was able to my UK fiance over here a little over three years ago.  Our process was smooth and quick, but I've heard spouse visas can take longer...and there were the unlucky people who applied way before us and still were waiting.

The US visa system sucks, quite frankly.  It's easy enough to figure out though...just takes more waiting.
