Tiger Bread
« on: January 11, 2008, 04:28:46 PM »
Who else loves it?  So far I've only tried Tesco and Sainsbury's, and of the two, Sainsbury's is the best.  Especially fresh out of the ovens!  Where do you get yours?
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

Sainsbury's.  It is really lovely stuff, isn't it?

I love all the different types of fresh bread I get here.

My bf likes it, but I find the crust a bit too salty.

It is sold as "Dutch crunch" in delis throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, but is little known in the United States outside that region.

That brought back memories - I used to occaisionally treat myself to a deli sandwich on a dutch crunch roll. I haven't thought of that in years!

We have a lovely bakery in central CA that makes dutch crunch rolls.  Love it!
Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…

I had never heard of it, so upon seeing it at Sainsbury's this morning decided we needed to try it.  It's quite good, but plainer tasting than I was expecting.  My husband really enjoyed it with his soup for lunch.

it's killer for sandwiches, or even just spread with some Laughing Cow or jam.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.
