getting ordained in the us

has anyone ever done it? i want my brother to do the ceremony.. does anyone know what i need to do?

Make sure it's legal for an internet-ordained officiant to perform the ceremony -- it's not legal in many states.

My friend had her father perform her wedding ceremony in the US. He had to get a special proclamation from the state legislature allowing him to perform that specific ceremony on that specific date. It was actually a pretty cool document that he now has as a memento! If I were you, I'd get in touch with your Secretary of State and see what the specific requirements/allowances are for your state. To be honest, I wouldn't go the internet route.

I was friends with a guy who wanted his uncle to marry him and his wife.  All his uncle needed to do was get a form and have at least 2 churches recognize him.  But this was done from a religious standpoint so I don't the difference.
