Not sure where to find the exact information for this, but I have contacted the Greek Consulate General in London for their input.
Background, I am here from the states in the UK on a work permit. I am living with my UK fiance in the UK. We have a wedding booked for Greece 8-8-08. After we are married, I plan to continue working in the UK and living here as well.
The response from the Greek Consulate was that we need:
Full birth certificate
Decree absolute, if there has been a divorce (not relevant as we have not been married before)
Deed poll, if name has been changed (also not relevant)
Certificate of no impediment, must not be issued more than three months before the desired date of the wedding. It takes approximately a month to be issued by the Registrar. This is where I get confused, what is this for an American and what do I need to get one.
All documents in English, must be officially certified by The Legalization office, Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Old Admiralty Building, Whitehall, London and then translated into Greek.
Any help or advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance.
