Hotel Charges $1,000 for Omelet
« on: May 18, 2004, 01:40:10 PM »
Was reading the yahoo news and saw this article.  Expensive omelet!!
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040517/ap_on_fe_st/_1000_omelet_3

The omelet, which debuted May 5 and is billed as the "Zillion Dollar Frittata," has six eggs, a lobster and — here's the kicker — 10 ounces of sevruga caviar. The restaurant pays $65 an ounce for the caviar.

Anyone afford to eat this???

Read in the Metro today that the restaurant is daring people to charge the omelet to their company expense accounts.  Nobody's done it yet.   ;)

Large OJ:  $2.50
Side of Toast:  $ 3.25
Omelet:  $1000.00

Tip:  $151.86 (gotta do 15%!)

Total:  $1156.61   :o

Hi all!  Guess what!!!  Richard and I are staying at the Le Parker Meridien, next Tuesday and Wednesday after the wedding ;D  Oh, and we have reservations already at  Norma's restaurant in the hotel.  Hmmmm, should I get the omelet, or maybe the french toast?  Tough choice!!!!  I have to say though, we have eaten there before and the brunch is out of this world!  A not miss in my book!  But get the french toast or pancakes, it's like having dessert for breakfast!!!
