How do I...?

I didnt really know where to put this but I have a question... I need to do something totally opposite of what people want to do -- I need to GAIN weight, not lose it.  Thing is - I dont know how.  And I mean gain 10 HEALTHY pounds, not unhealthy - eg, stomach.  I recently got back from my trip to England, where his parents told me that I needed to gain a bit-o-weight, and my friend here in the US said that I looked a tad sickly and too thin. I am also told by various family members and friend - and I know they mean well, but its a tad irritating.  I'm tired of people thinking I am anorexic/bullimic however... I have known for years that I am underweight by at LEAST 10 pounds - I am 5'6 and only weigh 103 - I used to weigh 110 but lost it about a year ago and don't know how to get it back.. anyone have any suggestions? or advice? Thanks!

Sorry Cass don't know a lot about trying to gain weight, but I do have a friend that has always been about the same size as you, yet she is very healthy. She does some weight training and works out so is toned, yet tiny. I have heard of people drinking protein shakes and such but not sure about the taste or the results.  ???

What was suggested to my mom (who was 5'8" and 112) that she weight lift and eat more protein.  She too was asked if she had an eating disorder but she ate in a very healthy manner.  Weight lifting and protein definitely helped her out a bunch.  Just know that you may always be someone who is underweight...it happens.  Don't let people get you down! (I don't have this problem...I'm more my dad's daughter...but I felt for my mom).
