moving expenses
« on: April 11, 2004, 06:40:27 PM »
Hi,

I'm going to be moving to England from Pennsylvania in the next couple of months and I'm wondering if it's more advantageous taxwise to get reimbursed for my moving expenses from my new UK employer or take money directly from my new employer for use to pay moving expenses?  Thanks. :)

We had all moving expenses paid directly by the employer.  Well, the moving, shipping, and temporary accomodation parts of the expenses, which was what they agreed to pay.  We kept all receipts for all other moving expenses incurred, and got part of that sum refunded from our UK tax return last year.
