Thanks Turn Left (though I can't figure out how to do it with my work laptop...but maybe with my home one)...do I then press certain "numbers" to get the pound sign?

You're welcome.

Does your work laptop not have the "blue" numbers, or can't you find how to get to them?

Once you have the number keys enabled, just hold down the Alt key and type the number 156, then release the Alt key. :)
