(very) quick Lake District tips!
« on: March 20, 2008, 02:46:36 PM »
Just found out that Mr Madeira wants to leave for the lake District tomorrow morning.  He'd like me to book hotels now.. any ideas for a 4 day trip, starting from London?  Cheap is apparently good.

I have no ideas for you but travel is due to be a NIGHTMARE this weekend. On the news this morning they were advising that anyone travelling on the M6 should take extra food and blankets!!! Have fun! ;)

We stayed in Windermere, at the Howbeck, on our honeymoon.  Great place!  We were in the Windergill room.

From what I've heard about the Lake District from someone who lives there, and what I've seen online, it seems like a beautiful place to visit with many nice choices.  Have a great time!
