Anyone have any recommendations for a B&B in Whitby (for a weekend away)?  :)

We stayed in a room with a four-poster bed at Bagdale Hall in March 2005, which was lovely and very close to the bus and train stations as well as the harbour.

No, but my recommendation is to book early!  They have a lot of music festivals there year-round & the B&Bs tend to book up quickly.  We wanted to stay in Whitby once for one night during the World Music Festival, but had to settle for a place near Fylingthorpe instead.

That said, there are loads of B&Bs in Whitby, so you're spoilt for choice as long as there isn't an event in town or high season.

If you like fish & chips - go to The Magpie Cafe! [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Ha - we went on a day's notice but it was March and snowing - not ideal seaside weather. :D

we're looking at going in mid May- I've had a look and it doesn't seem like there's any special events going on in Whitby that weekend.  Hoping to book soon-ish, although there are extenuating circumstances that might prevent that :(

The Bagdale looks gorgeous, Meg! Very tempting.

Just a quick note to say that my DH proposed to me in Whitby! Can't wait to go back one day.

Have a fun trip!

Like other posters, I have special memories of our first trip to Whitby - it was to celebrate our first anniversary as a couple!  (A couple of whats, you ask....)
