Today, I was delighted to find a spanking new edition of a Bradt guide to Armenia!  ;D

Cool! I would think it would be a very interesting place to visit. I have known a few Armenians in my time but couldn't tell you a thing about the country.

BTW in case you didn't know already, the BBC has country profiles of just about everywhere:

I am headed to Armenia in May.  ;D

I met quite a few Armenians in Israel and I am definitely looking forward to my trip.

I was in Yerevan a few times on business. Nice place, and lovely people, but the gangsters and corruption are very noticeable (maybe in part due to my business dealings with the government). There's been some trouble recently with a contested election and new fighting in the Nagorno-Karabagh region. Do your due diligence before you go, and pay attention while you're there though, and you'll be fine.

Thanks for that info. I signed up for the Warden's message awhile ago and to my surprise one Saturday morning I had a call advising me to avoid Yerevan due to a protest that day. I was pleased with that service!
