My husband and I very nearly had an argument about the flying penguins this morning!

I was in the bedroom getting ready for work (with the tv on, but not paying attention), and he runs in exclaiming, 'Did you just see the flying penguins?! They were amazing!!'

And I said there is no way he saw flying penguins...he must be mistaken. Penguins don't fly!

'Are you telling me I didn't see flying penguins?! They just showed them on the BBC. And they MIGRATE!!'

I told him he must have seen footage of them swimming under water, because it can look as if they are flying. He got very stroppy with me, and we had to change the subject to avoid getting into a fight.

It was lunchtime before either of twigged that it was April Fools Day. We were had - big time!!

Hubby and I were also watching this morning and he was just so amazed by these flying penguins until I reminded him it was April 1st.

A little while later after the sports report they were going through the newspapers and there was an article about greyhounds racing on the ice, something about them wearing little ice skate type things on their paws.  Again hubby was amazed until I once again reminded him of the date.  Poor guy was a bit slow this morning.

I remember some years ago the BBC published a story about mosquitoes carrying a disease that would reanimate corpses temporarily. It was fabulous!  Also April 1st.

The worst someone got me - a friend told me David Bowie had died.

Ah!!  I always try to watch to see the April Fools joke on the BBC and miss it every year.  Thanks for posting this!

The first thing that went through my head was So long and thanks for all the fish.

My hubby phoned me at work yesterday morning all excited because he'd seen a 'miracle' diet on GMTV...called So-Tox!  He wanted me to try and find out where to buy it.  Poor guy was gutted when he found out it was fake!
