I once had food poisoning from eating some of Papa John's pepperoni pizza.  I was ill for 4-5 days.  I lived on 7-Up and saltines during that time.  It is possible for food-poisoning recovery to take several days.  I hope he feels better soon.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes for hubby. I managed to get some bland food down him and he's been up most the day.

In the meantime I'm still walking around with bleach spray!

I've had food poisoning twice - both from eating dodgy chinese food (I wouldn't touch an egg roll again!).  If I remember correctly, the first time I was fine after 48 hours and the second time seemed to last a lot longer.

It probably depends on what kind of bug you get.

Glad to hear hubby is feeling better!

When I read that the doctor told you to take Ibprofin...I literally out loud said "IT'S GONNA MAKE HIS STOMACH WORSE!"...that doctor should be shot. Ibprofin isn't for stomach pains.

I had the same problem last night but it's gone...shooting pains all through my stomach it woke me out of a deep sleep. Was sick on the toilet all night from that point on and even into today but not as bad.

Keep giving him fluids, try some crackers for some sort of solid or maybe some toast without butter. Spearmint Tea tea is good also, my dad's wife is indian and seeing as I won't drink Sage Tea she always tells me to drink Spearmint Tea when I have a stomach ache. Don't drink too fast, just sip.

I hope he feels better!!

Thanks for asking, Tin. He's just fine now just trying to get some of his strength back. He lost a ton of bloat weight and looks great! But the GP said the weight will come back very quickly.  ;D

I'm glad to hear he's on the mend!  And the rest of you seem to have dodged the bullet?
