hello to everyone
« on: April 28, 2004, 07:09:47 PM »
Hi everyone,

I have been reading this site for a while, and I think its great! Its wonderful to hear what Americans like and dislike about the UK.
I am a British citizen will be marrying an American in September and I cannot wait to be with him forever. We have decided to live in the UK as its the fastest way to be togther.
We will be living in Cornwall (if all goes well). Is there any other Americans out there living in that area?  He would also love to hear what people think about the slower pace of life there  :D

Hi Cas.  Thought I'd reply for namesake  :D

I'm an American citizen about to marry a British citizen and will be moving to Hampshire in early Oct.  Like the both of you, we've chosen for me to move there because it is the quickest way.

Congratulations and from one newcomer to another, welcome. :)

Hi Cas and welcome!  I love love love Cornwall. Did I say love?   ;D  We won't be too far away from you in Devon -well in US terms anyways!  Depends on where in Cornwall you are.

I personally love the slower pace of life there and it's one reason we want to move.  I'll refrain from saying more until I get there though!

Again, good to have you on board and welcome to UKY!

A BIG THANKS to all of you for your replies. We will be living near Penzance ( you cannot get more south in the UK! ).
Its really great to know that we are not alone and there are many other British- American couples out there that have gone through /  or going through the complicated process of bringing their lives together.
Again, I would like to thank everyone for their advice and a big  :) for your sweet replies.

Cornwall is gorgeous. We're not quite there, but anyone from the north or east who'll be coming to visit you will probably drive not too far from our house. We're in Wiltshire.
Married to Graham, we run our own open-source computer training company in beautiful Wiltshire out of our 1814 Georgian Regency home (a former lodging house and once featured in Antiques Roadshow)
