I did a search in the forum but didn't find anything to directly answer this that was current (everything was a few years old and I am not sure if the rules may have changed or been made more strict).
My sister booked her tickets to come visit me in her married name, but just realized today (the day before she leaves) that her US passport is in her maiden name. Virgin Atlantic told her to bring her marriage certificate, which she can easily do, but we are unsure if she can make it through UK immigration alright with this difference on the ticket and passport. My sister asked Virgin if they'd just do a name change for her but they will not do it.
Does anyone know if this will be a problem when she gets here? She is only staying for 8 days and will have her return ticket info, etc. The US passport office has apparently said it will be up to the discretion of the UK customs person she encounters. Any advice, info would be appreciated.
Thanks.
