I don't understand.

Are the songs already on your new computer?
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

Yes, English might be your first language, but tech is no one's first language. :)

So you have all the songs you want on your new computer already (you've either copied them or purchased them directly there) and now when you hook up your ipod (to your new computer) even though you're authorized this machine it doesn't perform a copy? Nothing happens?

Do you know where they are saved to? Have you gone into your iTunes and imported the folder that contains them?
I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

I'm gonna assume that you did as Kayla said and imported all your stuff and see it in itunes cause if not, you need to do that. :) I remember having the same issue after getting a new machine -- it would say the ipod was synced but wouldn't actually sync it. I can't remember how I fixed it, but I'll play around and see if I can recall the solution and post back.

My ipod quit synching properly not long ago and the only solution I found was to drag the songs from my library to the ipod. That seemed to work, but it was still irritating....

Find the song in the library or in the folder of songs that you've bought. Click and hold down the mouse button, then while you're holding it down, move the mouse to the Ipod icon - the place you want to put them. Let go of the button when you're hovering over the place you want them. That should, in theory, drag them from one folder to another and copy them there. The other way to do it is to highlight the song, left click and choose "copy" and then highlight the folder where you want it, left click and choose "paste".

I had the exact same problem with itunes when I purchased my new laptop.  Then I had the problem again when I purchased another ipod.  My frustration with itunes and ipods knows no bounds - but anyway, it sounds like your ipod needs an update.  You are likely running a newer version of itunes on the new computer, and the ipod hasn't been updated yet.  So assuming your laptop recognizes your ipod when you plug it in, use the option in itunes to update your ipod - don't do the one that wipes your ipod clean!  You just want the software update.  You could try that, or try Google and look for a download of the older version of itunes that you currently have on the desktop and replace the laptop version with that.
