I run and lift weights 3 times a week and I get really sweaty! I've accumulated lots of kit over the years, so I'm working from a larger pool: 3 pairs of wicking trousers, 3 sports bras, 5 pairs of (NOT cotton!) running socks, and about ten wicking vests.
My routine is to re-wear the trousers and bra (and my elastic knee brace) for all three workouts, drying them in between, and with the tops, socks, and pants, I dry those alongside the rest of my kit, and then throw them in the laundry bin once they're dry. I always wash the wicking stuff inside-out, and usually at a hot wash, though sometimes I get lazy and just do them at 40 because it's quicker, but that gets rid of the smell just as well.
And then there's the stuff I only wash every few weeks, like my iPod armband, lifting gloves and the HRM strap, but those don't seem to collect the stink as readily as my clothes...
I stocked up on a ton of workout gear when I was last in the States (SO cheap!!) and I really liked the UnderArmor stuff from running shops, and the Champion and Ativa brands from Dick's and Target (I can't remember which brand was from which store). My mom also knows my size and exactly the kind of tops I like so she always keeps an eye out for sales and sends me parcels with her finds, too.
