Taking things to the UK, forms to fill?
« on: June 06, 2008, 10:47:22 PM »
Hi all,

My wife and I will be moving to the UK in a matter of weeks, and are worried about paying duties for shipping our furniture over. I saw this post from a few years ago:

Just arriving in the UK to live?

If you're in the process of moving here you can bring all your household goods provided that they're over six months old and there's also a concession for wedding outfits, etc.   Forms to fill in, but it's worth it.

Now, that's great, as just about everything we are taking over is over 6 mo. old, but it mentions forms to fill in. Where are these forms? Are they available to download somewhere? If so, what is the URL? Do we need to fill them out before shipping things over Can anyone help? We are really freaked out about the thought of having to pay so damn much just to get things through customs when the value of most things is really small.

I believe you are looking for the C-3 form.  Your shipping company should give you this, but if not, I'm sure you can find one by doing a search on google.
