I make the trip back and forth sometimes 4X a month. I try to drink lots of water on the flight, little (if any) alcohol & I try to bring my own food if I can. When I get to the US (usually late afternoon) I stay up as late as I can, usually until about 11pm or so. I do have some prescription sleeping pills if I need them but I try not to use them. Normally, I'm pretty beat the next day but the day after that, I'm fine.

Back to England, I try and sleep as much as I can on the flight. I usually don't eat dinner but do have the breakfast that's offered. When I get it (morning), I unpack, take a hot bath and then nap for about 2 hours. Force myself to get up, have dinner and then usually have a fairly early night. By the next day, I'm fine.

I've been doing this schedule for some years now and I guess I might just be used to it, but that's what works for me. Good luck!
