Oh man I have had a massive craving for Cool Whip...
« on: June 22, 2008, 09:42:37 PM »
I have no idea why, and no, I'm not pregnant.

Is there something like Cool Whip here? I have lived here for almost 10 years and I just TODAY had a craving for it. How odd.

Mr. Whippy ice cream basically tastes like frozen Cool Whip to me.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

You might be onto something. The thing with Mr Whippy is sometimes it isn't even all that COLD. its just so pumped up with air that it stands up on a cone.

Sure you're not pregnant? :P

Can you get someone to send you some packets of dream whip from the states (that you mix up yourself)? I find that dream whip (also made by kraft like cool whip) tastes just like cool whip.

I think dream whip is sold over here - I think that's what my MIL uses for her trifles...
 :-\\\\

I so wanted a cool whip cake the other week.  I'm interrested to know if there is an equivalent?   :(

Whenever I want or *need* cool whip, I just make my own version. Basically just whipped cream, homemade. I use the double cream, or whipping cream and add powdered sugar, and whip the heck outta it!

I saw an ad (In the US, sorry) that they have Cool Whip in a can now.  I'm curious if it tastes anything like the frozen stuff.

I tried the Cool Whip in a can today. It did have a Cool Whip taste to it, but it also had an aerosol taste to it as well. The best way to explain it is a cross between Cool Whip and Reddi Whip. It is basically the thickness of Cool Whip so it doesn't come out the can as easily as the Reddi Whip does, it stays in a thin ribbon, rather than spreading out like Reddi Whip. Since usually only use the Reddi Whip for ice cream sundaes, I'll probably just stick with Reddi Whip, plus the Cool Whip in a can is more expensive. I'll just stick with the Cool Whip in a tub for the rest of my Cool Whip needs.

(now I'm tired of the word "whip")  :(

Years ago I worked at a place that sold ice cream, and we had Cool Whip that came in these cool squeezy things for putting perfect little dollops on sundaes and banana splits and stuff. It wasn't aerosol (which I can't stand). I agree with Belita...the aerosols taste of can. :-X But I've never seen the squeezy things in stores, so it must have only been available for commercial use. Too bad, because they were really convenient and made cute little star shaped dollops. :P
