Donna broke my heart!  I loved her with him.  Her spunk was a great balance.

I love how...satsifying that episode was. No cheap cliff hangers, everything tied up beautifully.

....  SPOILERS! (when does the spoiler ban lift? :) )

I am heartbroken for Donna...I can't imagine anything worse than having this amazing experience, being so changed by it, and then having to go back to obnoxious giggling Donna on the phone talking about fancying blokes in off licenses...how tragic for her :/

And I liked her...I really didn't think I was going to, but I liked her spunk and her empathy and her challenging of the Doctor. Martha was too worshipful, she thought everything the dr did was just brilliant and I think he needs more of a strong hand then that, to remind him when he's being wonderfully arrogant.

Also...oh my god it broke my heart to see the doctor give the fake doctor to Rose. He loves her and gives her such an amazing gift at the cost of having her to himself. So tragic...And he's all alone again :( (I'm free and looking for work if RTD is reading!!!  ;D)

Just so folks know, discussion of the current ep is fine after 7pm on the night of airing - so feel free to post about the finale here.  It's just spoilers for future eps that we're trying to avoid!  :)

Oh, well in that case I'll say that I want one of those regeneration hands so that I can make my very own David Tennant.  ;D

I was very sad about Donna. I have to admit her character had to grow on me but I liked her in the end. Catherine Tate did some great acting.

But a bit weird for Rose to end up with that other Doctor Who!

DH and I rewatched it yesterday since we both missed bits of it on Saturday and wow, so intense.  We both cried about Donna :(  Catherine Tate did a magnificent job this year, I think this season might be my favourite so far, actually.  Overall, I liked the episode quite a bit...I try not to analyse things too much since I just want good entertainment from Doctor Who and I certainly wasn't disappointed this week!

edit- can I just say I hate that Doctor Who seasons go by so quickly?  I wish we had 20+ episodes per series and not 12 or 13!

I was hoping that if Donna was the one to go, then the Doctor would find a way to get her back with her husband from the Library so she could be happy.  It was a shame to see her so gobby again.

I also liked the nod to X Files with the location captions throughout both episodes.

And the Gwen/Gwyneth thing was a nice touch, even if it was just for the dorks.

Overall, I'm generally happy with the episode, but there's still something I can't quite figure out that I didn't like about it. I've been pondering since Saturday...

I'm actually happy to see Donna go. I didn't think Tate suited the show.
Another shameless promotion for www.mclevey.com, the best place on the internet to buy art.

I couldn't stand Donaa at first, but Pompeii changed my mind.  I cried like a baby when I watched this on Sunday morning.  Like a big, silly, geeky baby.

I am glad that Russell T ditched the 'other' Doctor into the alternative reality.  The real Doctor would never have committed genocide like that.  I hated that bit.
